We always work hard to make these machines shine and type smoothly again. They're taken apart, thoroughly cleaned (deep chemical cleaning) reassembled, oiled, and adjusted. Also polished or repainted if needed and if it's possible.

According to the Olivetti brochure: “When the performance of a standard typewriter is required in the space of a portable. The Studio 44 bridges the gap when a standard machine would be uneconomical and a personal portable would be unsuitable.”

This model was used by William S. Burroughs, Ralph Ellison, and Tennessee Williams.
